Digital Imaging operates within Learning Experience Design to support the development of media rich courses that enhance the educational experience for students attending Virginia Tech. Support to faculty is available based on scheduled course development activities, or for sponsored collection development in the Discovery Commons repository.

Digital Imaging is guided by principles of trustworthiness, file formatting standards and responsible stewardship. The primary community we serve includes the members (faculty, students, and staff) of the university, and the extended populace represented by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Faculty projects developed in Discovery Commons are available to all to the extent permitted by law and granted by each collection sponsor, providing the published record as a public service to users.

We encourage faculty to submit support proposals for inclusion in the repository that develop existing collections of research or projects that create a resource for discovery.
